“Life is for living so why should we wait?”

Laura is a solution-focused hypnotherapist whose practice revolves around helping clients look forward, not back, while empowering them to build new pathways toward healing and happiness. Using a combination of psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), Laura helps clients with issues like anxiety, depression and stress.

“I chose this form of hypnotherapy because clients don’t have to relive their past traumas,” Laura explains. “Instead, we focus on finding solutions and treating symptoms. It’s about moving forward.”

Laura didn’t start out as a hypnotherapist. She began her career as a life coach, helping clients identify their goals and create actionable plans to achieve them. While coaching was rewarding, Laura noticed it often took clients time to process their breakthroughs. “Hypnotherapy is like a fast-track solution,” she says. “It works on a deeper level, and clients often see results after just a couple of sessions. Plus, it’s amazing how something as simple as improving sleep patterns can change everything.”

But Laura is quick to point out that hypnotherapy isn’t a magic wand. “Clients have to want to make a change. It’s a collaborative process,” she says. “The mind is incredibly powerful, but resistance will block progress. When clients come ready and open, that’s when the magic happens.”

In the past, Laura would journal her thoughts and ideas, using writing as a personal outlet. Nowadays, her focus has shifted to creating stories filled with morals and life lessons. It’s her way of scratching that creative itch she’s always had and getting lost in the worlds she creates, bringing characters and their journeys to life.

The story of Audrey, named after Laura’s grandmother, is deeply inspired by her own journey of self-discovery. For years, Laura sought safety and comfort outside herself, only to find it was often fleeting. One of the biggest lessons she learned was that as long as you seek approval from others, you’ll always be searching or trying to please everyone.

Through her personal growth, Laura discovered that true freedom comes from developing unshakable self-belief and feeling comfortable in your own skin. With Audrey, she explores this transformative journey by guiding her protagonist, a younger version of herself, through challenges, life lessons, and the realisation of her own inner power. Audrey learns that she embodies happiness, love, and all the wonderful things she’s been seeking. Written with a child-friendly touch, the story encourages readers to look inward and embrace these truths early on. Laura’s hope is that by understanding these ideas sooner, young people can grow into a world filled with more love, confidence and joy. Imagine that kind of world? Laura says, “Yes, please!”

Laura finds her inspiration in stories of resilience and the incredible power of the mind. When she writes, she taps into her creativity by embracing a childlike perspective. For her, there’s a special kind of magic in seeing the world with awe and wonder, just as children do. Their unspoiled view of life, filled with make-believe and imagination, is something she strives to capture and reignite in her writing. Through her stories, Laura brings that sense of everyday magic back to life, reminding readers of the joy we often lose as we grow older.

When asked for advice for those starting their own self-development journey, Laura’s answer is simple: gratitude. Laura believes gratitude instantly lifts your spirit. She also highly recommends the book The Magic by Rhonda Byrne: “It has all you need to know about practising gratitude, and that book is my bible!”

Laura sees challenges as opportunities. “The mind can't tell the difference between imagination and reality. So, I could say ‘This is tough, and this is such a struggle’ and believe it, or, in contrast, I could say ‘It's okay, I am safe, I am loved, I am strong, this will pass.’ The thoughts you have elicit feelings, and when you combine the two, they form a belief,” she explains. “I choose my feelings carefully, especially if challenges lie ahead.”

If you’re feeling stuck in your life, Laura’s advice is to “make changes and break out of the status quo life that you’re living. If you desire a better way of living, you can achieve that.” Laura expresses that we are the creators of our own lives and that you need to move by creating action. She suggests writing a list of values for the life you want and making small steps to improve your life to achieve those values.
